Mark Dzwonczyk | President and Chief Operating Officer
With more than 20 years of executive experience and product development leadership, Mark is an accomplished international business and management professional. Before joining Vello in May 2007, Mark was the founder and CEO of Sigpro, a telecommunications company focused on Internet telephony products and services. Mark grew Sigpro from a small consulting firm in Silicon Valley to a recognized leader of innovative products for the hospitality industry, with engineering and manufacturing teams in the U.S., China, Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to Sigpro, Mark was at Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he developed robust signal processing systems for embedded applications. Mark has a BSEE summa cum laude from Tufts University, an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT, and spent several years in the PhD program of Stanford's Information Systems Lab, including teaching graduate level signal processing courses.
Atul Dhall | Vice President of Customers
Atul drives all customer-related business at Vello, including sales, customer service and quality assurance. He has more than 17 years of experience in customer service, sales, international business development, product management and channel management. Prior to joining Vello, Atul was the Director of Consulting and Implementation Services at MRSI Consulting, a management consulting firm engaged in organizational development, sales and customer service process design, and financial planning. At MRSI he worked with clients to develop customer service and sales teams and design processes to create world-class customer service environments. Prior to MRSI, Atul worked for Saint-Gobain, a Fortune 50 company, where he was responsible for international sales, customer service, channel management and product management. Atul completed his engineering degree in India and did his MBA in Marketing and Finance at the University of California, Davis.
Daniel Orr | Vice President of Strategy
Dan sets corporate strategy and manages strategic business development at Vello. He is a seasoned professional with over 25 years in strategic planning and business development for both Fortune 50 companies and startups. In these roles, Dan has excelled in financial analysis, deal structuring and negotiations involving multi-billion dollar transactions.
Prior to joining Vello, Dan was an executive at Hewlett-Packard, where he was responsible for developing corporate strategy and leading business development in the digital entertainment sector. He has enjoyed award-winning product and program leadership success with revolutionary interactive consumer electronics and interactive services, playing a key role at Microsoft in the creation and introduction of WebTV, UltimateTV and Xbox. Dan began his career in Silicon Valley as a technology investment banker with Alliant Partners, where he served as Principal. He received a BA in international relations from Pomona College and a M.B.A, Accounting from the University of New Mexico.
Tim Gens | Vice President of Corporate Development
Tim manages financial, operational and legal matters at Vello. He has over 20 years of management experience in the software industry and has a proven track record in the development of early stage companies. Prior to Vello, Tim was the Founder and CEO of L-Tech Corporation, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, where he leveraged a $500,000 investment into a $12 million acquisition. Tim founded two other successful start-ups and acquired three other companies over the past two decades. He has also served as a co-counsel on a number of patent and copyright infringement cases. Tim received a law degree, a Master of Science in Chemistry, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics emphasizing computer science from DePaul University.
Larry Rosenthal | Founder
Larry has significant experience in the telecommunications and wireless markets as both a founder and CEO of multiple companies. He was a co-founder of Cellular One in Sonoma County, California, and subsequently started Landmark Networks, now known as Firetide, a mesh networking company. In addition, Larry holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for the Study of Social Change at Cal. Larry has also been a Fulbright Professor at the University of Naples and speaks fluent Italian.
